Folk dance

Lancashire and Cumbria have many active folk dance groups, you will find a warm welcome whether you are visiting while on holiday or new dancers.

Here is a list of some local folk dance groups in Lancashire and Cumbria.

Jacob's Join suppers feature at many of these events, if you are not familiar with that it means that everyone brings something to put on the communal table and share. Most times it works really well, just occasionally you'll get 3 things that are the same, such as large pork pies, but most nights there will be a great range of things. As a guide bring enough for two times the number of people in your group - so if you are a couple and taking a savoury dish take enough for 4, then if someone else has taken a dessert there will be enough for you.
